Trussell's Family Reunion: COMING HOME...

Our most awaited time has come and gone but the memories will remain with us forever. It is really such a good thing that Sterling's mom side of the family would always have an annual family reunion. The theme for this year's gathering is " THE TRUSSELL FAMILY REUNION : COMING HOME!" It took them months to prepare and all I can say is " Well done". We had a blast , if not for all, at least for me. It was my first time to attend and so as Adriana. We were introduced and warmly welcomed during the Friday night activity. When Aunt Teresa made the announcement they put us on spotlight. It was kind of embarrasing at first but I guess I just have to deal with it. Adriana and I were the 2 foreigners in the family. How exciting huh? One from the Philippines and one from Costa Rica. For this year, we learned lots of things about our late Grandpa Leony Trussell. They displayed pictures of him and all his kids ( Helen, Janey, Judy, Teresa, Linda and Lonnie) spoke of good things about him. They did a good job and made us feel closer to Grandpa Lonnie. We also had fabulous fireworks. It gets better and better every year. We also had the reunion for the whole family to welcome back Uncle Lonnie and his wife , Aunt Pat from their mission. They had served in Nevada. It was nice seeing them again. What a reunion!! My husband's family is huge!! I cant count them or even keep up with their names. Whenever I would ask their name..they would reply back to me .."I am Bryan Trussell's ..", before they say their names. More so , I will ask them to point who their parents were. Most of the day all the grandchildren and great grandkids spent their day in the creek area. It was so hot and humid , so the water for the Silver Creek really helped a lot. We also had some water games there and some just set up their chairs along side of the creek to be refreshed. Sterling and I were assigned to provide entertainment and activities for the YW and YM. There we not so many young men there because most of them were in Tennessee for the "High Adventure Trip". Craig is the YM's President and so he missed the reunion as well. Anyway, we went hiking ( within the ranch) and the girls tried the swing up on the hill with Sterling's supervision and Brennan of coarse...ha..ha..Anyway we also had the opportunity to smell and see how cows take a dump...It was gross! Anyway we had fun and thats more important. After taking a nap of 2 hours....he..he...Im feeling alright now and ready to have a piece of "PAKWAN"( watermelon) . Anyway it was light to eat and so my tooth didnt hurt as much. It was on the second day that we decided to go to the other side of the farm and at the Arrowhead LAnd! It was pretty there though dry . They havent gotten much rain that they needed there. But still its perfect for me. I got to drive as fast as I can with the Four Wheeler because the area is clear. And also I got the chance to see the bridge that the Boy Scout's had built. They had their camping their a few weeks ago and so thats the service they had given the Grover's. The Grover kids are tough and very active. As you can see in the pictures, if you dont see them swimming ....look up and you'll see them up on the trees or poles or just hanging somewhere..ha..ha..But I tell you they are all good looking kids! Im not just saying it ..its true!
