JOHN G. SHEDD AQUARIUM.
This is one of the spots that tourists go to here in Chicago. This aquarium is huge and very informative. This is definitely one of my favorite.I feel bad that Sterling didnt get to go when he had the chance. Well its because when we went there , people were like ants. We couldnt go thru eventhough we had some passes.
We went to visit the aquarium on a weekday and so we got in quickly. You would not believe how organized and how many sea creatures are in there. We saw different sea animals from different parts of the world. Thats why it holds the title of " The World's Aquarium".
Shedd Aquarium holds 6 exhibits when we visited it. It was cool watching each specie coming from certain parts of the world , not to mention our very own country " The Philippines". When we went down to the basement level of the building, we were so surprised to found out that the exhibit for "Wild Reefs" were all from the Islands of the Philippines. It occupies almost the entire floor.
This picture is one of my favorites. It looks like I am in the Philippines for real. Except when you look very carefully at the top part of it. You will see some pipe linings and lights.
As we went to the Wild Reef Exhibit , we got as close as we want to sharks and explore underwater gardens and corals.( Garden Eels and etc.) We were able to see also lagoons and mangrove forest and visit fishing villages through videos . It was really neat! It was like having diver's eye view of the marine life.

Crab Attack...thats how we call it. I love crabs!!!!!But not when they are still moving sideways. You should see this "Spider Crab", it looks so mean and ruthless. They would really go for an attack. Katakot!!!!

We also went to
"Amazon Rising" exhibit and it was also intriguing to see animals of different colors and attributes. We certainly watched out for the
Anacondas and Piranhas, giant Spiders and toxic frogs. We also enjoyed seeing Turtles of different kinds, Tetras, and teh fruit-eating fish " Tambaqui", in several
river channels with flooded treetops thats was made only for them.

Notice the orange fish like? That is the weirdest and funniest looking fish Ive ever seen. It looks like it has some extra skull on its head. Its funny looking but still pretty.
This is the standard pose inthe aquarium. he..he.. nobody leaves the aquarium without taking a picture on top of this poor turtle. They maybe slow but surely they are hard workers.ha..ha...
We also had a 360 degree view tour of the underwater reef community. We saw Moray eels in its rocky crevices, Regal Rays, Parrot Fish, Angels and Puffers.
We also get the chance to travel teh world thru 90 aquatic habitats: we explored rivers, lakes oceans , islands and local waters. We were able also to examined the movements of Coral Shrimps, giant octopus, blue Iguanas, Bluegillss, SunFish, Moon Jellies and Sea Stars and thousands of other amazing animals. And what interests me is the MAPPING TURTLE. Maybe its better than having GPS huh?
WE also get to see lots of GECKOS in the exhibit of KOMODO. We saw the world'd largest lizard and it was also their first-time appearance in Chicago. There was also the longest lizard , Crocodile Monitor, Basilisk, Chameleons, and Skinks. It was preety amazing seeing them. It was kind of scary but you never get to see it everyday so why not take the chance. Am I right?

Some of the animals we saw in the aquarium are the Beluga Calf, Australian Lungfish, Balcktip Reef Shark, Bonnethead sharks, Cownose Rays, Dwarf Caimans, Frog Fish, Goliath Bird-eating Tarantula, Green Anacondas, Lionfish, Queensland Grouper, Sea Cucubers, Zebra Sharks, Wattled Jacana. These are some of the creatures that caught my attention. They were all odd looking sea creatures.

Nemo is not here!!!

RANDOM PICS OF OUR FAMILY IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO

At Aunt Luz' house. Dami pagkain!!!!And this picture was taken at around 12:00 midnight or so. And Sterling had to leave at 4 am the next day for Nashville. He was so stressed out.

The biggest and spoiled-rotten cat Ive ever seen!!!!
GRANT PARK / MILLENIUM PARK.

This picture was taken at the Great Lawn. This is also a very good venue for concerts and the likes. Its a really neat piece of art.

This is where the guards warned us not to walk on the water and just sit. We told them we're sorry and that we are foreigners just visiting . he..he... well thats the truth anyways.

I love this place ....its an optical illusion kinda like. As usual lots of foreigners and locals enjoying the weekend. So we were not so lucky anywhere we go. This is what they called " The Cloud". Dont ask me why, I have no idea!!

This is so cool ...I ve never seen a super modernized fountain in my life such as this one. This may not be new to them but for me ..it was just to awesome. The pictures says it all.

Actually I dont know what actually this one is but its so cool to look at it. Anyway Sterling thought that it would e a nice background for a picture. This is at the BP Bridge which connects teh Millenium Park to Daley Bicenttenial Plaza and Lakefront.

This is very cool fountain. This is what they call "The Crown Fountain". It was designed by Spanish Jaume Plensa. This fountain is a majot addition to Chicago's renowed public art collection. It consists of two 50 foot glass block towers.

The picture may not reflect how tall the building are but I tell you , they were all gorgeous. It very different from where we are from.

These are some of the students form nearby college. They told us that they just did it for fun and get attention. Well , they got it ....big time. My nephews and cousins thought they were the Power Rangers.

FIRST DAY IN CHICAGO . These pictures were taken within the first day of our arrival in the big city of Chicago. We flew via United Airlines. We left at about 4:30 am and arrived in Chicago at exactly 8:15 am. It was only a short flight but we were so exhausted on the way because the night before that, we didnt get any sleep at all. As we landed in the O'hare airport , we hurriedly went to Alamo car rental to pick up our car. We didnt know that we have to ride a bus to get into their office which is 2 miles far from the airport. So to make it short we got our car ( Chevy Malibu) and started our adventure together in the what they call " The Windy City". It wasnt that hot when we got in there but the days following it. HHmnnn I guess you know how it's like...
We parked our car beside a bank and waited for the restaurants to open . We chose to eat at Northside Bar and Grill because both of us are in a mood for fish and steak. And so we hurriedly eat because we dont want to pay for the exceeding time we will have and so we went back to the parking lot only to find out that we've got a ticket. Ohhh..what a headache!!!!Anyway we didnt allow it to ruin our day so we headed straight to my cousins place.
